They offer a safe space to learn, and in the corporate environment, mentoring improves employee engagement and retention rates.įor early-stage career professionals, having a mentor can significantly help them gain a comprehensive understanding of the career path ahead. A good mentor will inspire you, push you to break barriers, develop you, expand your perception, and most importantly, a good mentor does not judge. The importance of having a good mentor cannot be overstated. When someone teaches you a new skill, you may be compelled to go teach someone else.
Sometimes the only way to advance is to learn directly from someone who knows - a mentor. Not everything can be learned from school, the internet, or the library. Without mentoring, there would be no Apple Computers, and many of our great artists and industry leaders wouldn’t be where they are today.
